Hello, I'm Alicia, but you can call me Alice

I was born in sunny Spain, on the outskirts of Barcelona, twenty minutes away from the iconic "Sagrada Familia" by metro.

As an English Philologist with a degree from the Universtat de Barcelona (2008), I discovered my passion for ghosts, Gothic tales, and the eerie landscapes of human imagination. Early in 2024, I earned a Master’s degree in Jungian Psychology from the Universidad de Nebrija, allowing me to bridge my love for Gothic literature with profound insights into the human psyche. Since then, and in order to tune in more into the real connections and benefits of using Gothic literature as a tool for self-discovery, I have been taking other courses in the Centre of Applied Jungian Studies.

For over twenty years, I taught English as a second language, ten of which I spent running my own academy alongside my husband. In the wake of the pandemic, we embraced a long-awaited shift to online ventures, transforming how I share my passion and expertise.

I am currently an independent researcher and personal essay writer specialising in Gothic literature as a tool for self-development under the Jungian lens. I explore how Gothic literature mirrors the psyche's descent into the unconscious and can guide psychological growth through the discovery of our inner images. My work includes:

- Creating self-development courses that use Gothic storytelling or artistic representations with Gothic elements to explore our inner archetypes and create a road map for myth discovery.

- Mentoring others through Exploring the Gothic Psyche: Jungian concepts in Gothic Literature, designed for writers, creators, coaches, and anyone curious about the depths of the human mind.

- Workshops and retreats to work on the "Exploration of the personal myth."

- Writing and editing services focused on Gothic themes and psychological storytelling.

Currently, I am working on three essays for upcoming academic collections:

- An Critical Essay for a collection called Women in Supernatural.

- An essay for Demeter Press on motherhood, the collective unconscious, and the archetype of the Great Mother.

- A contribution to the collection Horror and Rewilding, run by author and editor Simon Bacon, exploring the same themes through Gothic and Jungian lenses.

I’ve co-authored Diario para madres escritoras II, un nuevo comienzo, and contributed to seminars and projects exploring the archetype of the Great Mother.

My mission is to help others reconnect with themselves by uncovering their inner figures and exploring their personal myth through Gothic storytelling and art. Whether you’re a fellow explorer of the psyche, a fan of Gothic literature, or a seeker of transformation, I’d love to connect and make new friends along the way.
