There’s something powerful about storytelling that you might be missing out on and that you could be using to help you figure out who you are.

There’s something powerful about storytelling in general:

1. It’s entertaining

2. It makes you forget about your problems

3. It makes you look at things from a different angle

4. It makes you think about acts and consequences

5. You learn about relationships and, as a knock on effect, about the human condition

Believe it or not, all these things can shape who you are and your perception of the world around you. That’s why educators and your parents have been ramming books down your throat ever since you can remember. What they were really trying to do was to help you become a balanced and educated adult with plenty of tools to navigate the big wide world.

But what they didn’t tell you, probably because they have never thought about it this way, is the power of storytelling from the point of view of scary stories. And this is precisely what I want to talk to you about today.

In today’s entry I want to talk to you about three benefits that will help you make the most of your Gothic and Horror stories whether you tell them, read them or write them…
